Set the server origin before launch:
Rules:
  • Use HTTPS in production.
  • http://localhost:3000 is acceptable for local development only.
  • The server must implement Overlay discovery and /api/v1 contracts compatible with this desktop version.
  • Never place owner-funded provider keys or signing secrets in the desktop app environment.
Self-hosting the server is separate from installing the desktop client. Docker/Compose applies to Overlay Server — not to the Electron GUI.
